First is paper 1, which will be general to all and second paper is your subject specialization i.e. you can choose subject based on your interest and educational background from the 84 subject list, as provided by UGC i.e.

Yes, you can apply for NET exam after M.Sc. in physics. In fact, it would be the best for your knowledge as well as for the job.
