However, the cutoff score can vary each year depending on factors like the number of applicants, seat availability, and overall competition.Generally, a score of 250 should be considered decent, but it's important to note that NEHU's cutoff can differ by category (General, SC/ST, OBC), and the program's specific demand in that year. The cutoff marks for M.Sc. in Microbiology at North Orissa University (NOU) typically depend on the number of applicants, their academic performance, and the available seats for the program. While the exact cutoff can vary each year, here's a general idea:General Category: The cutoff is usually around 50% to 55% in the qualifying undergraduate degree (B.Sc.) with relevant subjects like Microbiology, Biotechnology, or Life Sciences.Reserved Categories (SC/ST/OBC): There might be some relaxation in the cutoff for candidates from these categories, typically around 5% to 10% less than the general category.

Both North Orissa University (NOU) and Fakir Mohan University (FMU) offer solid M.Sc. in Biotechnology programs, but there are some differences.FMU has a stronger reputation, especially in research and development. It offers better faculty, research facilities, and industry connections, which can lead to better placement opportunities in biotech companies and research labs.On the other hand, NOU also provides a good education in Biotechnology, but its industry ties and resources might not be as extensive as FMU's.
