Opening and Closing rank depends on the category and quota of candidates. For general category under All India, opening rank was 11555 and closing rank was 13157. Cut off are different when it comes to other categories or female candidates and even domicile of home state. In All India, opening and closing rank for female candidates was 16619 and 21195. Admission to Integrated B.Tech. in Biomedical Engineering + M.Tech. in Biomedical Engineering in Indian Institute of Technology, BHU, Varanasi is based on the scores obtained in the entrance exam JEE. There are few vacancies every year due to shortage of admissions in various engineering colleges across the country. The institutes also releases notification for admission into such seats by non-gate candidates.
I suggest you to search for such institutes as these seats are less in number.

The placements of NIT-Rourkela for M.Tech biomedical are quite decent. Many analytics and coaching institutes recruit from our college. Talking about the department, it has ample laboratories to enhance your knowledge but only a handful of core companies visit for campus selection. On the contrary, NIT-Rourkela is extending its placement premises to Bhubaneshwar in order to have an airport connectivity with Big Core Firms related to biomedical engineering.
