The eligibility criteria for admission to M.Tech at Army Institute of Technology is:At least 50% marks in 12th standard with Physics and Mathematics along with one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational subject from a recognised board.  (Only wards of army personnel, ex army personnel and war widows of the army are eligible for admission)

Yes it is possible if you score in the GATE exam in Material Science or other related fields like Biotech, Chemical Engineering and so on, you can apply for M.Tech in Material Science at IIT Bombay even if you have done your B.Tech in Biotechnology. At IIT Bombay, students from all the engineering disciplines can opt for Material Science. Candidates must fulfill other criteria as well to get admission through GATE. Admission to most of the IIIT Hyderabad courses is entrance exam-based.  Admission to M.Tech programme is based on entrance exam and subject to a valid score in the Postgraduate Entrance Test (PGEE) conducted by the institute. For M.Tech in PDM, however, a valid score in GATE/ CEED exams is also accepted. Other eligibility criteria includes A pass in BE/ BTech/ ME/ M.Tech (all branches), other relevant PG degrees.
