I think the first thing you should ask yourself is:
"Are you still interested in engineering after 4 years of rigorous course? "
If your answer is yes, please start preparing for GATE. Another question for yourself, "Do you want to shift career paths? "
If your answer is yes, go for an MBA. For me, this worked well.
My suggestion:
India is a progressed nation. Our education system in terms of IITs and IIMs is well known to the world. I think, pursuing MBA/M.Tech from India's top institutions is equivalent and acceptable globally. Of course, exceptions exist. Duration, cost, part time job and stay back options are the factors to be considered to study abroad.
In UK, you will get UG in three years and if you get honors then you will one year paid internship. You will be able to earn 50% of tuition fees.
You will study from the latest technology whereas in India, you will study 5 years from old technology.

Yes, you can opt for M.Tech in the same field of design. However, there could be additional requirements. You have to check with the universities you want to apply to.
