Madurai Kamaraj University conducts its own entrance examination for admission to over 15 schools of PG courses. Later, few programmes may have additional selection rounds for admit A Group Discussion (GD) and PI. The candidates are requested to visit the official website of the university for the entrance examination and selection procedure.

Before applying for admission to MKU, the students must meet the course-wise minimum eligibility criteria. Admissions to UG courses in MKU are primarily merit-based, whereas students must clear the corresponding entrance exam for select PG courses. Once eligible to take the exam, submit the score as you fill the online application form on the MKU's official internet site and submitting the documents.

To apply for an MBA at MKU, students need to qualify for either MAT/ CAT/ CMAT/ XAT/ TANCET/ TANCET MBA/ GMAT/ ATMA/ MAH CET exam with a valid score. To be eligible for the MBA programme at MKU the aspiring candidates need a minimum of 35% in class 12 and 50% in graduation. There are a total of 1526 seats available for the MBA programme out of which 291 is offered through the Directorate of Distance Education, Madurai Kamaraj University.
