It depends on the course which students apply for such as for Diploma and certificate courses, students can apply for direct admission. While for B.Sc courses, students have to qualify the entrance examination to get admission at IHM Mumbai.Institute of Hotel Management Bengaluru (IHM Bangalore) without the NCHMCT JEE is not possible. The NCHMCT JEE is the only entrance exam accepted for admission to IHM Bangalore.

IHM Mumbai BSc admission process is entrance-based. Candidates fulfilling the required eligibility criteria are selected for admission based on their score in the NCHMCT JEE examination. This national-level exam is conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA), annually.In addition to the written test the candidate has to appear for an Interview of 100 marks and the questions will be based on attitude of the candidates. The Admission in Hotel Management courses will be offered on the basis of marks obtained in written test as well as the performance in Interview.
