The first year covers subjects which are common to other B.Tech courses like Computers, Mathematics, Physio-Organic Chemistry, Physics, Electrical Science, Organic chemistry, and the basics like Foundation courses in Biology, Intro to biotechnology, Techniques in Biotechnology. Second year
Core subjects were Microbiology, Cell biology, Bioenergetics, Cell Biology, Genetics, Chemical Engineering, Immunology, Molecular Biology, Enzyme Technology. Third Year
An important year with interesting subjects like Animal Biotechnology, Recombinant DNA technology, Developmental and stem cell biology, Plant Biotechnology, Unit operations and plant design, Bioinformatics, Statistical Methods in Biology and Experimental Design, Downstream Processing, Medical Biotechnology and Bioprocess Engineering. Last but not the least!
Fourth Year
Environmental Biotechnology, Protein Biotechnology, Marketing management which was replaced by Entrepreneurship and Management (NUES) in 2016 updated syllabus, Bioprocess Control Engineering, Intellectual Property Rights, Biosafety and Bioethics in Biotechnology
Along with the project of six months in the last semester.

M.PHIL: ELIGIBILITY
Candidate must have passed the PG or equivalent examination from a recognized state/private/deemed or central University with at least 55% (45% to 50% for reserved category candidates) of the marks.
- He/She shall not be having any backlog or compartment in any of the subject/Subjects at PG level that is yet to be cleared at the time of taking admissions.
- Apart from the above-mentioned eligibility criterias various colleges and institutes may have their own additional criterias which the students would have to satisfy in order to take admission.
- In case of reserved category students, they would have to present their reservation certificates issued by the competent authorities in order to avail the benefits applicable to them.
- Certain Institute provides admission through Common Entrance Test (CET). To get admission in these institutes candidates would have to qualify the respective entrance exam by securing minimum qualifying marks.
The eligibility criterias mentioned above are common to most of the universities and colleges across the country that are offering this course to the students.
