Manipal University admissions are entirelyy entrance-based. Except for a few courses, where candidates are selected through the merit obtained in their last qualifying exam or by qualifying for Department specific tets for the respective courses. Apart from that, for courses like BBA, MA, BTech, BPharm, etc. candidates must appear for Manipal Entrance Test (MET), followed by other selection rounds.

Manipal University accepts NEET SS for admission to the DM and MCh courses. As per the 2023 last-round cutoff, the closing ranks ranged between 2576 and 5892 for the General AI category candidates. Among all the DM specialisations, the most competitive was DM in Infectious Disease, followed by DM in Gastroenterology and DM in Cardiology, with last-round closing ranks of 2576, 2844, and 3713, respectively. The two-year MBA programme at Manipal University offers four specialisations in addition to an MBA in Business Analytics. This course requires entrance-level admission. A valid score from recognised national exams is accepted by Manipal University. Students must be eligible to take one of the aforementioned tests and receive a valid score. The cost of an MBA at Manipal University is between INR 7.2 Lacs to INR 17.3 lakh. Tuition and a few additional costs are included in this figure.
