After the completion of the course and 6 months of sea service, one will be able to get the class for Marine Engineer Officer Certificate of Competency. After getting this certificate, one may join merchant navy ships as a marine engineer.

(I) Maximum age limit 25 years
(ii) Minimum height 157cm
(iii) Minimum weight 48kg
(iv) Normal colour vision
