Yes, there is a good scope in marine engineering. Shipping industry is a good sector where one may build a rewarding career. It is an important sector, which is crucial for the growth and stability of the global economy.
Shipping industry generates a number of job opportunities. Marine engineers are required by the industry in large numbers. After the completion of the course and 6 months of sea service, one will be able to get the class for Marine Engineer Officer Certificate of Competency. After getting this certificate, one may join merchant navy ships as a marine engineer.

You should pass in 12th or an equivalent examination with PCM and English as separate subjects with an average of not less than 60% in PCM. Further a minimum of 50% in English either at 10th or 12th standard is required for all the candidates.
Other requirements:
(I) Maximum age limit 25 years
(ii) Minimum height 157cm
(iii) Minimum weight 48kg
(iv) Normal colour vision
Before selecting the course, you shall ensure that you are medically fit for the course.
