The last year 2022 cutoff ranks for BTech in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering at IIT Madras - Indian Institute of Technology other than General category are - 3287 for OBC, 1796 for SC, 901 for ST and 1373 for EWS. While the admissions are based on the scores/rank obtained in JEE exam, the last cut offs also change a lot depending on All India quota or Home State. It also varies if the applicant is a female.

It depends on Institute where you study.If you study in top notch Institutes like IMS Goa, MERI, Tolani etc., you will get placed.In many other institutions, it's really hard.You'll also get placed if you study in Institutes like Anglo eastern maritime academy, Samundra institute of maritime studies etc. also as they are run by shipping companies who have their Ships and they place the students on their ships. The best shot is Anglo eastern maritime academy. Getting incide AEMA is like a rat race. ForB.Techin Marine engineering,   a candidate must be physically fit and should meet the medical requirements . 3-Year B.Sc (Maritime Science) 10+2/equivalent (PCM-60% and minimum of 50% marks in English subject in 10th / 12th Examination.)
