If you are targeting working in merchant navy or shipping industry, be sure about your choice, B.Tech marine engineering is a very good option. If you are still not sure of your choice, you may opt for B.Tech mechanical engineering now as it will open door for lots of opportunities. You can decide on Diploma in marine engineering to work in merchant navy in final year of mechanical engineering degree.

I appreciate your interest in pursuing marine engineering. To be eligible for marine engineering, you need to have a minimum of 60 percent in your 12th standard, along with a minimum of 60 percent in physics, chemistry and mathematics. As you don't satisfy this eligibility criteria, you are not eligible for marine engineering.
