just go for it man .Right field chosen by you having a lot of scope , I'm a marine engineer too and I know about the scope of the field but first check the guidelines laid down by DG shipping whether you are fulfilling or not.If you want to go in deck cadet your eyesight must be 6 on 6 with no night blindness and if you want to become engineer on ship a little relaxation is given to eye sight so first check all the guidelines and go apply I will advice you to give IMU CET so that you can crack govt institute for marine engineering otherwise private colleges are there but be careful in choosing colleges and you can seek my help too.so

IMU is the government institute for marine engineering and it is one of the best college for marine engineering.
you can get admitted into it by IMU CET exam.
