Hello Yashika, The preparation for becoming a marine engineer becomes important before you pass your 12th. This is so because the subjects which you study for 12th are the same ones for which you have to appear and entrance exam. This year there is going to be no entrance exam and the admissions will be based on the marks obtained by students in 12th take care of the different evaluation standards of different boards there will be what is called as normalisation process. To be declared fit for selection, a candidate must be in good mental and physical health and free from any deficiency likely to interfere with the efficient performance of duties. These medical requirements are laid down by DG Shipping and are subject to change. The cardiovascular system is also the part of medical test for B.Tech Marine Engineering.
Cardiovascular System : There should be no instance of cardiac or vascular disease. Electrocardiogram should be within normal limits. Systolic and diastolic blood pressure must not exceed 140 and 90 mm of Hg, respectively.

Movement of cargo by ships is the cheapest mode available presently. This is now being promoted for even shipments within the country. It is expected that movement of cargo by ships will continue to rise in foreseeable future. In view of this I would definitely recommend that you should think of becoming a marine engineer.
