You have asked a very intriguing and interesting query. If I have understood correctly, you are asking whether after completion of your maritime engineering course is the placement done based on class 10th 12th or Diploma course? No, I don't think so because after the completion of your engineering graduation when you appear for placements interview, the prospective interviewers will give you placement based only on your performance in the graduation or the interview. They normally will overlook your marks of class 10th, 12th or Diploma even if you are being asked to give this information to the incoming placement teams

Yes, it is. The two year Presea training course for Diploma Holders (DME) is a course leading to Class IV Marine Engineer Officer Certificate of competency, awarded by the Directorate General of Shipping (Government of India), after six months of sea service, enabling the cadets to become Marine Engineers on board Merchant Naval ships anywhere in the world. This course is strictly residential. Course commences on Every year September Month. Hope it helps !

Yes, when you want to become a marine engineer it is obvious that you will be serving on the ship that could be sailing for many days without any recourse to good medical advice or facility. Hence DG shipping has laid down strict medical guidelines to be followed by all the institutes which are offering this course. It goes without saying that the students will be tested based on these standards before they are admitted for Marine engineering course.
