Lateral admissions are invariably based on marks obtained in your Diploma course. In addition to this, eligibility is of the students of the state. Hence, the process begins only after result is published. Keep on checking on the website of DTE of edu of your state for further details and announcement.

One can definitely apply in anticipation of result for an entrance exam since admission depends not only on securing minimum prescribed marks in qualifying exam but good ranking in entrance exam also. But invariably, lateral admission is based on marks of Diploma and no entrance exam. In such scenario, till you have mark list of Diploma in your hands you cannot apply for admission.
