Yes, Marine engineering is one of the great career options in India, however it come with its own set of challenges. The prospects in the job market are that with increasing maritime transactions the job schedule is demanding and off-shore time is comparatively less, which may be a drawback. Promotion does exist, and the positions are relatively well paid since graduates start off with approximately INR 40,000 per month salary that then rises as more experienced workers are paid significantly more. But, the growth might be relatively slow as compared to the other branches of engineering.

IMUCET is Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test (IMU CET) is a national-level entrance exam conducted annually by the Indian Maritime University (IMU) for admission to its undergraduate and postgraduate maritime programs. Only citizens of India are eligible to write this exam. Hence if you are a citizen of Nepal, you cannot attempt to write this exam.

Even though studying marine engineering is difficult, it is not impossible.
