The Department of Journalism at Madras Christian College (MCC) has strong partnerships with well-known companies. These companies include:  Cognizant, TCS, Infosys, BNY Mellon, KPMG, Accenture, Wipro, NatWest, Deloitte, Zoho, RBS.  According to a 2023 MCC NIRF report, the median package offered to students in 2022 was INR 3.25 LPA. In 2022, 200 out of 1,520 students were placed.  In 2022, about 80% of students from MCC were placed. The highest package offered was INR 8 LPA, and the average package was INR 2 LPA.  According to Shiksha, the college is very keen on placements, and about 60% of students get internships.    

SCMC Pune admission is entrance-based. Symbiosis Centre for Media and Communication (SCMC) is a department of Symbiosis International University (SIU), under the Faculty of Media and Communication. The department includes a BA course at the UG level. Admission to the programme will be entrance-based. Besides, the placement opportunities, the students pursuing from the university are eligible for certain merit-based and need-based scholarships.BA- Eligibility criteria:Entrance exam: SETClass 12 pass-out or 3-year Diploma holder in any discipline from any recognised board/ council/ university with a minimum of 50% aggregate (45% aggregate for SC/ ST) or equivalent grades

We have the big companies like Google, Glitch etc. coming up for the advertising and the public relation. The journalism students got placed in the big media houses like Times of India, Times Now, Republic TV, NDTV, Outlook etc. The audio-visual students got placed in the big production houses like Excel and also in YouTube houses like Filter Copy, Film Companion, etc. Infrastructure: We have the well-equipped soundproof screening rooms, computer labs, audio-graphics labs, and the editing cubes for working on your films and learn about the technical instruments, which are important for the industry. The expensive lenses and the cameras are available for the practical use of the knowledge about the photography and the videography. Faculty: The college has the excellent faculty members and guest lecturers, who have the immense experience of teaching. Most of them have the great industry experience. Hence, the knowledge they share is of great use, when the students go out in the media world. The vast course covers all the aspects of the specialised field the student chooses and has the good amount of knowledge about the other fields of mass communication. Other: The fest of Symbiosis is hugely popular all over the country. Symbiosis Centre for Media and Communication (commonly known as SCMC Pune) successfully concluded the placements drive for 2021. According to the placements data, top companies like Pocket Aces, Zomato, Alive Now, Allison & Partners and Network18, among many others participated in the placements drive. The highest and average packages offered during SCMC Pune placements were recorded at INR 10 LPA and INR 4.22 LPA, respectively. However, the median package offered during the placement drive was about INR 4.30 LPA.All the programmes at SCMC Pune are career-oriented and provide excellent job placements. Apart from teaching the curriculum, faculty members at the institute provide substantial placement-related training viz. industry visits, research and guest lectures (from renowned personnel of the industry). The overall placement rate during SCMC Pune placements 2021 was recorded at 77.46%.
