Hi,
If a student has completed his B.Tech he should by then know what he wants to study. Asking which course to study at this stage is very vague. Talking about MIT, it's one of the most competitive universities in the world. You must not only excel in your academics but also have an all rounded profile.

Admissions are based on GPA, Letters of Recommendations from your professors, GRE scores, personal statements and any work experience/projects. TOEFL is used only as a proof of English proficiency and doesn't really matter for admissions as long as you're scores are above the cut-off scores. Since really bright/really nerdy students apply to MIT MS, I think you'll need a CGPA of 9. If these 5 parts of your application are stellar, I don't think you need to worry about the "prestige" of your engineering college.

You are advised to appear for GRE. The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is a standardized test that is an admissions requirement for most graduate schools in the United States. There are no specific eligibility criteria for GRE. Aspirants can register for the test irrespective of age and qualification. Many graduate

Hello,
SAT is a standardised exam, the syllabus is the same all over and irrespective of the background. SAT Subject tests are required however the subject you must take depends on the university and what you want to study. Please find this information on the university website.

Hi Udayan,
Focus on your academics and study hard. Excellent percentile is required. Additionally, you must demonstrate an all-rounded profile that is taking part in extra curricular, project work, research, community or voluntary work. MIT is one of the toughest universities to get into and you need to prepare hard. A very good SAT score ( 1450+) is recommended. SAT subject tests are also required. You are also required to take the TOEFL. I will also advise you to visit the MIT admission webpage and see what all it takes to be an MIT student. All the best.

Hi,
Above 75% atleast if you have a very good all-rounded profile. And if you don't have any extra curricular and your overall profile is not strong then more than 85% should be targeted.
