MIT is one of the top-ranked universities in the world and goes without saying that admissions are very very competitive. Admissions will depend on your overall profile. You must have excellent academic grades and also very good extra-curricular activities. Overall you must show all your qualities and what qualifies you as an applicant. Ask yourself why MIT will admit you and prepare your profile. Apart from these, you must take tests like SAT or GRE depending on what you want to study, you did not mention if you are looking for UG or PG programmes.

A strong profile that is an all-rounded profile is required. You must not only stand high academically but also demonstrate various skills and extra-curricular throughout your academia. As for admission requirements, they vary with programs. You haven't specified if you are looking for BS or MS degree course.

Work extra hard on your academics, very high percentage would be required. Admissions are based on overall profile, check MIT admission requirements website and prepare accordingly. There is no single thing but you must consider many things or factors to apply to a tough university like MIT. Very good academic grades around 75% and a high SAT score of 1400+. These are just the stats. You would also require a very strong all-rounder profile with extra-curricular activities, etc. Please check their website to understand the requirements and selectivity and the fees. Also, you did not mention if you want to study Bachelor's or Master's degree programs.

On campus placement is only available in Indian universities. MIT has career assistance cell which helps students network with potential employers, they organize career fairs, etc. but not placement. As an international student you can work under OPT rule for 3 years. After OPT either you have to come back or you may be hired by the employer. In this case employer has to sponsor the H1B visa which is the biggest problem. You can google about H1B and OPT.

Please clarify if you are talking about MIT USA, MIT Australia or our very own MIT in Manipal. Also it would be better if you mention about your education details.
