In IIT JAM examination, section-B comprises of multiple select Question (MSQ). In these type of questions more than one option can be correct. Candidate will get marks only for those questions of MSQ in which he/she has chosen all the correct options. Lets understand it by example. Suppose a ques has three correct options but you have selected only two correct options then you won't be awarded any marks for that question.

Actually, admission through IIT JAM exam is through merit rank in the exam not through marks score. Rank is decided on the basis of mark gained. Your score is very less, probably rank will be around three thousand. With that much of score you will not be eligible to take admission into any college. Try next year with more hard work.

For giving IIT JAM exam and to seek admission into M.Sc. Or M.Sc-PhD or M.Sc-M.Tech courses, one must be in final semester of Bachelor's degree programme or have completed their Bachelor's degree. In 4th semester according to guidelines you are not eligible to give IIT JAM exam. Even though you give the exam and crack it then also it won't be useful because you cannot take admission.

Best plan to crack IIT JAM exam is to first get through the entire syllabus. Make your own handwritten notes and revise them on daily basis. Short handwritten notes or say formula sheets will turn to be super saver for you before exam days. Last but not the least, give as much mock test as you can. Educle, Caveer Endeavour and Fiziks by Fiziks provides study material which is enough and sufficient. Samvedna publication books are also good.
