For the self-study of jam examination, one must start the preparation early. No matter if you study 5 hours instead of 8 hours, only output matters so study effectively. Yes, you can. You can choose one or two subjects for IIT JAM examination, but the subjects you choose must not be in the same session. The exam will be conducted in two sessions. So, you have to select the subjects according to the two sessions. Ist session: 09:30 a. m. to 12:30 noon for Biotechnology (BT), Mathematical Statistics (MS) and Physics (PH). IInd session: 02:30 p. m. to 05:30 p. m. for Chemistry (CY), Geology (GG) and Mathematics (MA). IIT JAM Exam will be conducted on 09th February 2020. So, prepare yourself well. prepare as per the latest exam pattern only. Practice a lot to master a subject. Must remain consistent, it is very important. Don't dare to skip any topic from the syllabus. Find your weaknesses and work on them. Solve IIT JAM Previous year question paper . To emphasize more on efforts, efficiency, accuracy and speed, join online mock test series and solve full length mock papers. Attempt Questions with easy approach. Keep on revising the concepts. I personally do not recommend to go for coaching, if you have a good foundation of basics. You study almost everything in B.Sc. Syllabus. Go with the latest syllabus only. Just that go for Quality IIT JAM Study Material. Along with this no books or coaching can teach you unless you do not put your own efforts. Getting into IITs is all about brainstorming. So it is better to study on your own. For doubts, you can contact your faculty members and friends but before that try to understand it seeing the solution. Thanks a lot.

As far as syllabus is concerned you must start early but really there is no definite answer on this, How many hours one should study to crack IIT JAM. It depends on efficiency, accuracy &conceptual clarity. If you go to college or coaching then 3-4 yours are enough. Follow the latest syllabus & check IIT JAM. Previous Year Question Paper. Practice the easiest topics first and solve a variety of questions. Then proceed to the next level topics clear the concept and practice more no of questions to master them. Also appear for mock test papers as well. Thanks.

Here is the preparation strategy for IIT JAM Mathematics. Mark the topics you know well. Cover them first. Solve relevant questions. Proceed to the topics you have studied earlier but require practice. Now look for the topics which are difficult & scoring ones. Through the entire preparation follow IIT JAM Mathematics Study Material. Download the last 10 years' question papers and solve them religiously. Practice a variety of questions for a good command. Appear for Online mock tests in time and analyze your performance. Stay positive and optimistic about your preparation.
