Yes, definitly  you are eligible to appear for the IIT JAM exam if you are a 5th semester student with Zoology, Botany, and Chemistry as your subjects. The IIT JAM eligibility criteria for the Chemistry stream requires the candidate to have a Bachelor's degree in any Science discipline with Chemistry as one of the subjects. The Chemistry subject should be for at least three years/six semesters. But make sure that the IIT JAM exam is a competitive exam and you need to prepare well to score well. The difficulty level of IIT JAM is moderate to tough. The difficulty level for subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics is tougher as compared to the IIT JAM subjects of Economics, Biotechnology and Geology. If we compare the difficulty level of IIT JAM 2024 examination with CUET PG exam, ISI Admission test, NEST exam, IISER Entrance examination, then it will be found that IIT JAM 2024 examination is comparetively tougher than the other top colleges/ universities entrance examination.
