Eligibility of the parent state or university to have postgraduate programs open for non-domicile candidates is run on basis of the actual eligibility criteria as set by the state or university in which the candidates have applied.He or She may be eligible for taking admission through state entrance examinations; however, reservations and other benefits meant for domicile candidates would not apply. Admission will be made based on general merit or open category rank. Non-domicile students must submit all authentic educational qualifications and other required documents. Some states or institutions also have very specific reservation norms or rules. Such a situation has always existed for these general criteria by which students from other states stand equal to students eligible by this criteria for seats not reserved for students from that state.
