CAT is conducted in between November to December. CAT requires preparation beyond classroom learning and this is the reason CAT coaching institute in Kolkata named ERUDITE is well known for its excellent approach in teaching. Each student is attached to a personal mentor who guides the student's right from filling up forms to cracking an IIM interview. According to the feedback from students, the full time faculty and its feature of providing individual assistance helps the students to recognize their strengths and weaknesses along

Hi,
No, you don't need to. CAT is difficult as compared to MAT. If you have chosen to prepare for CAT please focus on it as it covers the preparation for MAT exam as well. Moreover, where through CAT aspirants are eligible for admissions to 20 Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and more than 1000 B-Schools in India, on the other hand, more than 600 Management Institutes offer admissions on basis of MAT scores. For details on the difference in terms of eligibility, pattern and difficulty level of both these exams, check out this article on Shiksha:

Hi,
Start your basic preparation by researching about these exams and checking previous year question papers. If you would like to prepare from home at your own then you need to work a lot harder in finding what is relevant to study as these exams are not just about attempting but knowing what to attempt.
In my opinion, being from Kolkata, you should enroll yourself in one of the coaching classes or may be mock test series which is a must. I myself did preparation from Career Launcher PARK STREET center. Also if you want to pursue MBA outsider Kolkata then you need to set some targets as to which college you want to get into and that wil

DILR-

MAT and ATMA are among the easier MBA entrance examinations that are conducted in the country. It is advisable to prepare for CAT XAT IIFT SNAP as preparing for them will already make you exam ready for exams like MAT and ATMA. However you can use these books for your reference-
NCERT (Class 9 and 10)- Believe it or not, the best books are often the ones that are the simplest. Try to finish these before going for other books. Follow Wren and Martin for basic English and grammar. Sarvesh Verma (Quantum CAT for Quants) and/or Nishit K. Sinha (Logical Reasoning, Quants and Verbal Ability)- A good choice to begin with after NCERT books. Sol
