Go ahead for the entrance exam preparation because being weak in economics is not that big hurdle. In MBA, subjects will be taught to you from the beginning and in an easy way. With the above percentile, you can go for good colleges.

I think you should face no problem in getting into Asia-Pacific Institute of Management if you've scored 56 percentile in MAT exam. The college runs 4 PGDM programmes and one part-time program for business executives. Visit their website www.asiapacific.edu/ for more information on their admission eligibility criteria.
Rankings-wise, Asia-Pacific Institute is at the 9th position in Delhi NCR. In North India, it has been ranked at 11th position. And all over India, it stands at the 40th spot. As far as its placements are concerned, I'm impressed. They also probably have the best infrastructure if you compare this institute with the rest

If a student fails to clear CAT then MAT is the 2nd option and you write MAT in February or May. Academic year starts in June or July so yes, any university which is recognized by UGC has to accept the CAT score.
