No. All good institutes grant admission in MBA based on admission test scores. So, its better for you to prepare for open test and then seek admission. CAT happens once a year & MAT happens 4 times a year.

No, it's not that much. Since writing these MBA entrance exams is not about clearing them. They give scores / percentile. If you score better then broader options for top colleges will be open for you. Else for an average college they do accept a little less score.
Also, group discussions, personal interview and your past academic records do matter to get admission in top MBA/ PGDM colleges.

For Doon University, it's not specified as of now. Then also, anything near about 85 will be a safe play. Apart from MAT, you need to focus on other management entrance examinations too.

MAT is the Management Aptitude Test conducted by AIMA. Cracking MAT without coaching or self-study is challenging, but possible. For that, you have to work very hard all day long. You have to collect the previous years papers and study materials. You also have to buy a no. of good books, the list of those books are given below. You have to learn and study according to the syllabus of MAT exam.
The recommended books for MAT exam are:
Barrons
501 Word Analogy Questions
Kaplan
Master the MAT Secrets
Princeton Review.

Eligibility for MBA programme:
The prospective applicant must satisfy one of the following eligibility criteria for admissions to the MBA programme. A graduate degree under 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 pattern under any discipline, securing at least 50% marks in aggregate, from a recognised university.
