Yes, you can. But there are also colleges that accept only CAT. Go through the list of colleges that accept MAT and see if your desired colleges are in the list or not.

There will not be a problem in admission. So, the process will have a group discussion and a personal interview round among the selected candidates. About the MBA program, you'll have finance, marketing, human resources, operations as your major/minor in the second year. The first year will have all the subjects as mandatory. The infrastructure, faculties, hostels, mess food, the clubs that are present in the college, the pattern of examination, grading, etc. everything is pretty decent & will benefit you for your overall personality development. This will help you seek a good placement with a decent package.

You should definitely try to appear for the MAT exam in May if you get the chance. There is no point of dropping a year if you can secure admission in the current year itself. Also, give a thought to appearing for the other entrance exams like GMAT GRE etc. Which are available to students all year round. Regards.

You can try for XIME-Bangalore and SBS-Pune, if the admission process is still open.

Apply in PUMBA (the lowest cost), XIME,-Blore then in NIBM-Pune. It is unfortunate that some tier I MAT colleges of finance has decided to allow only CMAT from this academic year, otherwise you could have better option. Try to avoid consultancy NGO or average college, as they can provide mainly financial product sales job or relationship manager profile, which is mainly hardcore sales.
