Mathematics Eligibility

To be eligible for the post of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) through the SSC CGL (Combined Graduate Level) exam, you need to fulfill the following eligibility criteria:
1. Educational Qualification: You must have a Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from a recognised university with a minimum of 60% marks in Mathematics at the 10+2 level or as a subject in graduation. As you have mentioned that you have scored 70% in Mathematics in your engineering, you fulfill this eligibility criteria for the JSO post.
2. Age Limit: You must be between 18 to 32 years of age as on January 1st of the year of examination. However, age relaxations are applicable for candidates belonging to reserved categories as per government norms.
3. Nationality: You must be a citizen of India, or a subject of Nepal/Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India. You can apply for an M.Sc. in data Science after doing a B.Sc. In Maths. M.Sc. Data Science or M.Sc. Data Analytics are near equal degrees. Is it good to do an M.Sc. In data Science after a B.Sc. In Statistics to get jobs? I think a lot of that depends on what hard technical skills you already have. While many people think that more Statistics you know the better, most of what you do in data Science is not straight up Statistics or algorithm creation. Instead there are typically building and deploying models using known and existing algorithms. There are things that you will get out of a data Science programme that you will not get out of a Statistics programme (although this is changing to some extent because of the growth of data Science). .
