Maulana Abul Kalam Azad institution of Technology (MAKAUT) is a state institution that was previously known as the West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT). It was established in 2001 by the Government of West Bengal and is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
