Yes, decent B-School and off-lately gaining lot of publicity due to its advertising. Have collaboration with Network 18 and SAP and has various companies visiting for placements with good support in placing students and grooming them.

There is nothing like AITE, its AICTE. All India Council of Technical Education is a centralised regulatory body which approves engineering and management courses/colleges if they follow the guidelines of the body. MAKAUT (formerly known as WBUT) is the technical state university of west bengal which affiliates engineering and management colleges. You cant draw differences between their nature of work, one is university and other is a regulatory body. The bschools like IEM, etc are under wbut university as well as approved by AICTE. In case of bschools its mandatory to be approved by AICTE even if it doesnot comes under any university.

It should not affect your chances for higher studies. The quality of the student is assessed, not of the college.

Hii Natasha,
If you want to do MBA in HR as correspondence then opt for NIBM(National Institute Of Business Management).NIBM is globally accredited by IAO (International Accreditation Organization) and it offers 1 year and 2 year MBA programs. NIBM also offers a 1 year executive MBA for working professionals. So that it won't affect their work schedule. For more details go to the official website http://www.nibmglobal.com/index.php

Autonomous can mean that the course is run by the academic council of the institute and is not recognised by UGC/AICTE/DEC. The course might have been designed and developed by the institute. Another meaning of autonomous can be 'self financing' which mean that they are recognised, but they are not receiving any financial support from the government or other agencies. Always a UGC/AICTE recognised programme is advisable.
