MBA Entrance Exam

The selection process for MBA at PSG Institute of Management is based on academic performance in the undergraduate degree and scores obtained in the entrance test, which can be MAT (Dec – 2021, Feb – 2022 & May 2022) / CAT (Nov 2021) / ATMA / TANCET. The final selection will be based on group discussion and personal interview. Candidates with work experience will have an added advantage. The eligibility criteria for the MBA programme is a recognised bachelor’s or equivalent degree in any programme with a minimum of 55% in aggregate. The minimum cutoff of CAT for 2023 is 60% for general category 2 . The admission and selection process for the management programme is based on the applicant’s performance in the entrance exam MAT / CAT / ATMA / TANCET, group discussion, and personal interview. The eligibility criteria to join the MBA programme is a recognised bachelor’s or equivalent degree in any programme with a minimum of 55% in aggregate 1 . According to a question on Shiksha, a candidate with 75 percentile in CAT can get admission to the MBA programme at PSG Institute of Management 9 .

The eligibility criteria for admission to the MBA programme offered by the IIMs is that the candidate must be a graduate and have cleared the CAT exam with at least 95+ percentile (General category). In the top six IIMs, the cut-offs for General category is as high as 99-100 percentile. IIMs shortlist candidates based on CAT score and the selection process is as they have mentioned on their website separately. The exam selection process for CAT will consist of a; 1. Group Discussion (GD) 2. Written Ability Test (WAT) 3. Personal Interview (PI). Post the COVID-19 scenario, some institutes conduct online interviews only for shortlisted candidates.
