Specialization in HR and Finance is completely different. First of all it depends on your interest level. HR is all about human resource where you will learn about employee relations, labor laws, training & development, recruitment etc. Where as in finance you will get to deal and handle the financial part. MBA makes you eligible for management subjects in UGC NET or JRF. A Master's degree is the minimum qualification for appearing in UGC NET. To join the teaching field as an Assistant Professor, you need to clear the exam. Specialisation does not matter in NET. It will make you score well in that part of the study but basic need is just an MBA.

To take admission in MBA (HR) you need to score 85+ percentile (if not falling in any quota) in CAT. After that you have to face one round of GD (group discussion) & PI (personal interview). So about ease of getting into an MBA programme in Panjab University, Chandigarh you just need to score well in CAT.
