You need to dedicate good 6-7 hours per day to learn and understand the concepts. Once you are done with concepts, start giving mock tests. Give as many mock tests as you can so that you know what's your preparation level and how much more you need to prepare. Most of all, dedication and commitment towards studies are required.

Hi Nikita, Students new to paper pattern can take up to a year or more, but the ones with a bit background or knowledge can grasp the concept overall in 6 to 8 months. There are students who study from years and still can't make to Iims and even the fresher crack the admission process with less training. You need passion and determination.

Revise the basics and important concepts regularly. Try giving tests which are having CAT based pattern. Focus more on weaker topics. Consistent and Committed effort will definitely help you to score good in CAT.

You can start preparing yourself i.e. self-study. Initially, you can refer to books by Arihant Publication, Pearson Publication available for CAT preparation. If you think it is difficult for you to get the logic and concepts then you can avail coaching from institutes like TIME, Career Launcher, IMS, and many more. Admission to IIMs is via a common entrance examination called CAT. After clearing the entrance examination, based on your score, past academics and relevant work experience IIMs shortlist students for written ability test & PI where they will gauge your interest for pursuing MBA. After clearing the same, one gets admission to any of the IIMs.
Good luck!

Yes, MBA can help you sharpen your skills in business management and thus assist you in the professional career. However, keeping you interest areas in mind, you need to decide what you need to do from a career perspective. The chances of doing well in a career of one's interest areas are much higher.
