Hello! An engineering student can start his/her MBA exams preparations either in the final year (only if both college studies and exam preparation can be managed simultaneously) or by taking a drop of a year. If one does not want to opt for a drop, he/she can take up a job and prepare for those exams, if possible. Generally, depending upon one's aptitude and clarity about the basics of various topics, 2-8 months of diligent preparation is sufficient to crack an MBA exam.

The process is simple:
1. Consult overseas education consultants (preferred route as the consultant takes care of administrative work) or
2. Identify the country, area and college and visit the said college site.
3. The website of the institute/college will mention the admission process
4. Follow the process and go ahead with the process or
You can also write to the said country embassy and seek guidance on the admission process applicable to various colleges/institutes in their country.

If you were so sure about an MBA, why opt for B.Tech in the first place? Now that you gave taken this decision, it better to focus on B.Tech for the time being. The graduate percentage is an important criteria and is considered by all top schools for final selection. Even at a B-School you would be judged on your percentage in 10, 12 and graduation. So, don't take it lightly. You can start MBA prep at any time, no need to hurry A focused one year prep for CAT is sufficient to get into top colleges.

Hello Siddharth, There will be as many opinions as possible in this issue. But it goes without saying that if aim is to get into a top-notch Institute then one must pay full attention to clear entrance exam with top marks. After graduation, take one year's break. Study with full confidence and concentration. I am sure with this approach, you can achieve great success.

In my opinion, having a good aptitude helps an MBA aspirant a lot while preparing for the various entrance exams. One's academic background has nothing much to do with studying for these exams.

Hello Siddharth,
I think that's too early. In the first year (2nd semester), it is important to focus more on your engineering courses than MBA exams.
You will be eligible for MBA exams only during your final semester exams and so it will be ideal to prepare from the 3rd year or final year.

I think you should mainly focus on past year's papers. Rest books of Arihant are perfect but no doubt, follow any book but with full dedication.

Yes, of course, you can start the preparation of MBA from the 2nd year of B.Tech but only if you are able to handle it.
