If you are highly interested in a particular field of study: If you are really interested in a particular field of study, there's no point in compromising on the discipline even if you get admission in a very prestigious college. Your priority order should be: branch first, college next. In case you haven't yet identified your interests and want to do so: Go through the course contents of as many different courses as you can.
