It is difficult to get an MBBS seat at a government medical college in Hyderabad with a NEET score of 460, particularly for applicants in the General category. Cutoffs are higher at Telangana's premier government medical schools, such as Gandhi Medical College and Osmania Medical College. In NEET 2023 for the example Osmania Medical College closing rank for the General category was 4247 or 570 marks. However as cutoffs for reserved categories (SC ST and OBC) are typically lower there may be chance if you fall into the one of these groups. For instance Osmania Medical College SC category closing rank was 48222 or roughly 443 marks

As with most courses at the Sikkim Manipal Institute of Medical Sciences, SMIMS MBBS general cutoff varies each year because it depends on multiple criteria: applicants, difficulty in an examination, and seats available for filling in an academic year. Traditionally, one needs to attain high ranks in the NEET UG exam to cut into the SMIMS cutoffs.
