The admission cycle for MBBS at the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research begins with the release of NEET notification. Its application form is usually released in the March month of the admission year. The entrance exam is conducted in May. To be eligible for the JIPMER MBBS course, candidates must fulfil the prescribed eligibility criteria. Aspirants who have passed Class 12 or equivalent examination with at least 50% aggregate are eligible to apply. JIPMER Puducherry allot seats in the MBBS course based on candidates scores in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) exam. The course aspirants need to take this entrance test and secure a good score to get selected. Aspirants who meet the eligibilitgy requirements can visit the NTA website to register and apply. After the entrance exam, a cutoff list is released by the authorities. Candidates with NEET score more than or equal to the cutoff become eligible for admission. The seat allotment is further carried out based on the exam scores.

For NEET 2025, the application process will likely begin in the first week of February 2025. The registration deadline is expected to be around March 2025. After the registration window closes, candidates will have a brief correction window, typically in the second week of March 2025. The NEET UG 2025 exam is tentatively scheduled for the first week of May 2025. Thank you

No, JIPMER Puducherry admit candidates to its MBBS programme based on merit in NEET only. There is no other provision for selection. National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is conducted once in a year in offline or paper-pencil based test (PBT) mode. The national-level exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
