The eligibility criteria stated by MEC Kochi mentions the minimum qualification and aggregate requried to apply for a course. The basic eligibility is Class 12 for UG courses and graduation for PG programmes. Candidates need to pass Class 12 or equivalent pass with at least 50% aggregate in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry/Bio-technology/Computer Science/Biology taken together to apply for MEC Kochi BTech admission. Besides, aspirants also need to pass Kerala Engineering Entrance Examination for admission to BTech.

Candidates need to pass BTech degree in relevant stream with at least 60% aggregate to apply for MEC Kochi M.Tech programme. For SC/ ST candidates, a pass in the Engineering degree is enough. Besides, aspirants belonging to SEBC (OBC) need to pass the degree with a minimum of 54% aggregate. Aspirants who have passed AMIE/ AMIETE examinations with a minimum of 55% aggregate in section-B and a valid GATE score can also apply.

Candidates need to pay the course fee at the time of admission to confirm their seat in the college. Yes, MEC Kochi provides scholarships to M.Tech students. The institute also offers stipend to candidates belonging to SC/ ST category. Scholarship is offered to students with a valid GATE score as per AICTE norms for a total period of 24 months. Besides, candidates can also apply for the scholarships offered by the State Government.

For now, Model Engineering College Kochi does not accepts JEE score. Candidates are offered seats in BTech based on KEAM score. Allotment to 95% (50% merit- regulated fees and 45%- full fees) seats is made by the Commissioner for Entrance Examination (CEE), Government of Kerala. Once shortlisted, candidates need to pay the course fee to confirm their seat in the college.

MEC Kochi does not offer direct admission. Candidates need to follow certain steps to join the college. Starting with fill out the application form for the preferred course. The selection for BTech programme Kerala Engineering Entrance Examination conducted every year by Government of Kerala. Besides, admission to M.Tech course is based on GATE score. Once selected, candidates need to participate in counselling and seat allotment.
