Mechanical Engineering Placement

Dear Dhanraj, Mechanical engineering is the discipline that applies engineering physics, engineering mathematics, and materials Science principles to design, analyze, manufacture, and maintain mechanical systems. It is the branch of engineering that involves the design, production, and operation of machinery. The Mechanical Engineering department had the most ideal study environment since I have two friends from that stream and they both got placed in Hyundai India Motor Ltd. As far as Mechanical engineering is concerned, I can tell you this course carries extra baggage and it is very fruitful if you choose LPU as a medium. I would like to share their experiences:-
A Mechanical Engineering student goes through an experiential learning process surrounded by high-end the latest labs and equipment including robotics and automation. International tech-fests and competitions encourage all-round development in students in addition to giving them international exposure. LPU alumni are working in top MNCs across the globe like Voltas International, Honda Two Wheelers, Asahi India Glass Ltd. , Indo Farm Tractors Ltd. etc. LPU Students have been offered International locations like Dubai and Oman by Voltas. PEP classes start right away from the first semester itself in form of Communication Skills and continue till the final semester covering: Analytical Skills (Logic Reasoning and Verbal Reasoning) Quantitative Aptitude Skills Technical Aptitude Skills Presentations and Soft Skills Mock Exercises (Mock Interviews, GDs, Mock Tests, etc. ). All a student has to do is to maintain a good academic record and personality to ensure his/her placement. Many people have their views that LPU students study less but to complete the statement, I would say that the students work hard. The most prominent and wide tech fest for mechanical students is GO Kart race that took place in LPU for consecutive years and LPU is bagging the top position in the race. There are more than 100 companies that are coming in LPU for recruitment of mechanical students. The packages varies from 3 Lacs to 12 Lacs per annum. On an average, the packages are 5 Lacs in a very core company which gradually sees a couple of rapid promotions based on your handwork. Students have got top packages from leading tech companies. Students of Mechanical engineering are placed in Honda, VOLTAS, XL Dynamics, Anglo Eastern Ship Management, Hero MotoCorp, Hyundai Constructions, and many more. Thank you!

The placements are very good for the last two years, the annual salary of Rs 24 Lacs was offered by Code Nation in 2015 and Annual Salary of Rs 18 Lacs offered by Amazon in 2016 Annual Salary of Rs 15 Lacs plus benefits offered by Flipkart in the same year, ample of reputed companies have visited this time also like:

Many more companies recruited here in mechanical engineering and last year Coal India have offered a package of 12 LPA along with other core engineering government companies like BPCL, HPCL, IOCL hired near about 15 students for internship and all over. The average of around 7 LPA can be expected.

The average package lies in the range of 7.5 LPA CTC. Companies like Amazon, Zomato, Pepperfry, Cisco, Oracle, Jpmorgan, Morgan stanley, Microsoft, Flipkart, Intuit, Makemytrip, Fractal Analytics, Relinace Industry, Tata Consultancy, Lodha Developers, Runwal group, Larsen and Toubro, Thermax, Ingersoll rand, Toyota, Fedex, Exxon Mobil, Shell, Bharat Forge etc. A lot more recruit the students. The highest package goes as high as 39LPA. Some international firms also visit here every year. Internship through college is average. Students who have a good GPA are mostly selected for PPOs and also the internship. Infrastructure and Faculty are simply great and college is accredited globally. Ranked 5th among 'Best Engineering Institutes of India' by India Today in 2016 and Moreover, Ranked 39th among 'Top 100 Engineering Institutes in India' by National Institutional Ranking Framework (MHRD) in 2017.

In 2016, the percentage of total students placed was 96.7%. For mechanical department, it was 94.8% for in 2015 and 98.5% in 2016. Talking about the companies that come for recruiting there are reputed names like Volvo, TVS, Larsen and Turbo, Hyundai, Bajaj and PSUs like NTPC, SAIL, BHEL, ISRO, Visakhapatnam Steel, NPCIL. Average salary fro mechanical engineering lies around 6-8 Lacs (approximately). But some students also opt for roles in IT/CS and management as such. In these sectors, we have some really big names like Amazon, Google, Facebook in tech and Credit Suisse, Morgan Stanley, Delloite in Finance/management role.
