It is unlikely that you can get admission to the mechanical engineering branch with 58.15% marks in Class 12 Science. The eligibility criteria for admission to most engineering colleges, including government-run NITs and IIITs, is a minimum of 50% marks in Class 12 Science. So 58.15% would meet the basic eligibility.However, many top engineering colleges have higher cut-offs, often around 85% or more, for admission to mechanical engineering and other popular branches. For example, Bethany ISC has an 85% cut-off for Commerce and 90% for Science and Humanities.
