Hi,
There is no 100% placement in any colleges ideally. As many students go for research or higher studies and don't appear in the placement. However, those who appear most probably get placed in mechatronics department. Therefore, placements is good in this branch.

Both the colleges are equally good, but I will vote for Thapar University, Patiala because of the standard which the University has maintained since the establishment.
I will try to distinguish between both the colleges with the help of certain parameters:
ADMISSION PROCESS:Thaper University admits it's students on the basis of JEE main marks.Usually cutoff goes higher for Computer engineering (around 180).While SRM University conducts it's own examination called SRMJEE.
CAMPUS: SRM University has a very good and beautiful campus.Student intake is higher in SRM University.
PLACEMENT: Thaper University has average package of around 8 lakhs
...more

As you have already completed your graduation in electrical engineering. Therefore, you are eligible to take admission in M.Tech for Mechatronics in Germany or anywhere you want to. Therefore, you should apply for this, if you are interested in the same.

I would suggest you go ahead with SRM rather than Hindustan. reason:
SRM has better ranking and infrastructure
Better Professors
Better Placements than Hindustan.
So, I would suggest you go ahead with SRM.

Yes, only if you are interested in robotics and automation. It is not much popular in India. Try doing Masters in mechatronics from a western country like Germany or USA or UK, etc.

Hello B Sampath, These days admissions to engineering colleges across all states including deemed to be universities are based on some or the other entrance exam. Only in Tamil Nadu it's based on marks obtained in 12th exam. However many entities demand that students should score certain minimum percentage in 12th like IIT's insist on 75%. In view of this you can certainly say that your scoring 80% in 12th is absolutely right in correct direction. Best wishes.

Your chances are slim for first few rounds, so don't totally depend on seat availability. Try to look for all the other options you have.
