Mechatronics is certainly harder than the other engineering courses as it's a combination of a few fields such as mechanics, electrical and electronics, robotics and so on. Even though it has a tough curriculum to pursue out, it is good towards the future. Since it opens up ways to various fields, the job opportunities will be more. As an Indian, I don't think it's easy to get jobs here for Mechatronics pursuers. It would be better to go abroad and work. Our life will be all set for the future days. It's anyway not a regretful decision to take up Mechatronics as our specialisation in engineering.

It depends on your interest and effort you put into a field. Maybe mechanics is little harder for some because you may not 'be good' at all the disciplines (programming is totally different than, say, Material Science), but you're not learning everything to an advanced level, so it's not that bad. Other courses are also pretty widespread, they just focus on things related to the main theme (f. e. Mechanical Engineering courses involve technology, welding, material Science, bearings knowledge and so on), whereas mechatronics have more distinct disciplines (brief survey of the mentioned ones, electronics, a bit of programming, etc).

The best of all is Technical University of Munich. The tuition fees is 129 euros/semester or Rs 20640/year, which is affordable.
Before applying, you must have a German language certificate with good points to prove your knowledge of German. In Germany, the universities ask for 13 years of education but in India, we have 12 years. So if you want to do Bachelors, then spend 1 year at a college in India or do Studienkolleg of the respective university.

The average fee structure would be around 50-70 k per annum and it varies for regular and self-supporting courses. Other than this, you may need to pay hostel charges, if required.
For detailed fee structure, you may contact the admin.

Honestly, go for a B.Tech if you can't manage both job and Bachelor's which is very difficult indeed. Even though companies like FANUC come in our college for campus placement, I would still go for a B.Tech because for rest of my life my qualification would remain Diploma only and I don't like that. As a matter of fact Diploma students are considered below the Bachelor's students even though if you have more knowledge than them. I hope it helps.
