Manipal Institute of Technology is among the top private colleges in India, and once had a great reputation for excellence in academics, faculty and placements.
Although if core company placements are what you are looking for then it is not the right place for you, as most numbers of offers are made by corporate IT companies while the number of core company placements in the college is only around 10%. So, most of the students end up taking IT corporate jobs, giving up packages of nothing more than 4 lacs.
The average placement packages offered for mechanical engineering branch in Manipal Institute of Technology is around 5 lacs and th

Mechatronics is a specialization in Mechanical Engineering which is used to create and maintain robotic structures using the principles from Mechanical Engineering. Few colleges offer this course as a degree course in B.Tech and few as a post graduate course in M.Tech. I would suggest doing B.tech in ME and then specializing in Mechatronics as Mechanical provides you ample of opportunities if you ever change you mind for Mechatronics. The job opportunities in this sector are few but it is fine as the number of Mechatronics engineers is also less as compared to other branches. You can find job opportunities in Electronics, Automobile, M

Hello Arunachalam,
It depends on your caste as there are seats reserved based on categories.
Generally, the cut-off for general category is around 183-184 while for the SC, ST the cut-off will be around 100.
For BC, it will be around 175, MBC-165.
The cut-off marks vary every year.
So, it is advisable to have at least 2-3 marks more than the above specified cut-off.
All the best.

Mechatronics is a multi-faceted field. It makes you a jack of many trades. For example, I have learned about motors, control systems, software development for making things autonomous, sensors and how to use them, electronic components and embedded hardware, kinematics, and dynamics of systems and CAD. So with this sort of knowledge, you fill roles where cross-platform expertise is demanded. A person who has some knowledge of other branches of engineering is always highly respected. You could specialise in control systems, and yet show how these can be integrated into the software side. Or you could propose how the control system can b
