Medical College, Kolkata is considered one of the best colleges for MBBS in West Bengal and probably the best in Eastern India, with a rich legacy of 188 years, making it the oldest college in Asia. The college has good placements and a hostel facility. According to student reviews, it is a very good college for MBBS. While both ACS and MAHER offer excellent MBBS programs, the higher cut-off at ACS indicates a more competitive selection process. During 2022 placements, 41 out of 42 PG (3-year) students were placed. Earlier, 30 PG (3-year) and 130 MBBS students were placed in the 2021 drive. The placement rate for MBBS courses has increased from 85% in 2021 to 92% in 2022. Likewise, for PG (3-year) courses an improving trend was recorded in the placement rate. For MBBS, the median package increased from INR 9.40 LPA in 2020 to INR 9.60 LPA in 2021. Alongside this, the median package for PG (3-year) courses increased from 2020 to 2022.
