The selection process for B.Sc courses at Kasturba Medical College (KMC) is based on merit and eligibility criteria. The candidates must have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as compulsory subjects.The minimum score required for admission is 50% marks in aggregate in PCB (40% for SC/ST/OBC candidates). The candidates must also qualify the Manipal Entrance Test (MET) conducted by Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE). It is definitely one of the best medical college in Tamil Nadu ( NIRF rank 40 ).The college is one of the oldest and manged by a trust established in 1926.The college even work as training institute for other medical fartenity. So, the teaching faculty is phenomenal.  Also the practical exposure quality is better than other medical college due to its network and in house hospital.
