The selection process for B.Sc courses at Kasturba Medical College (KMC) is based on merit and eligibility criteria. The candidates must have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as compulsory subjects.The minimum score required for admission is 50% marks in aggregate in PCB (40% for SC/ST/OBC candidates). The candidates must also qualify the Manipal Entrance Test (MET) conducted by Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE). Kasturba Medical College (KMC) accepts the following entrance exam scores for admission:MBBS: The admission is based on the score obtained in the NEET UG. The candidates must have scored 50% marks in 10+2 Indian boards with physics, chemistry, biology/biotechnology and English from a recognised Board.MD/MS: The admission is based on the score obtained in the NEET PG. Candidates holding a foreign degree must be registered practitioners in the Country from where they have obtained their degree and must obtain a temporary registration certificate from Medical Council of India (MCI).DM/MCh: The admission is based on the score obtained in the NEET SS.Please note that the cutoff scores for these exams vary each year.

Duration - 5.5 year : four-and-a-half-year course along with one year of the Compulsory Rotatory Residential Internship (CRRI). Academic qualifications: To secure MBBS admission in India, candidates must have passed class 12 from a recognised board.Subjects studied: To pursue an MBBS course, students should have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in their class 11 and 12.Minimum marks required: For MBBS admission in India candidates must score at least 50% marks in the qualifying examination. For SC, ST, and OBC category candidates, the minimum marks required for MBBS admission are 40%.Age criteria -  Aspirants should have attained the minimum age of 17 years for getting admission to MBBS in India. The upper age limit for MBBS admission is 25 years.
