If you have not appeared for NEET, studying MBBS in India becomes challenging, as NEET is the mandatory entrance exam for MBBS admission. However, you can explore alternatives such as studying MBBS abroad in countries like Russia, China, Ukraine, or the Philippines, where NEET may not be required, though it's essential to ensure that the universities are recognised by the Medical Council of India (MCI). Some private medical colleges in India may also offer direct admissions under management or NRI quotas, but NEET is generally still required for most institutions. Alternatively, pursuing other health-related courses like BDS, BAMS, or

To pursue courses like MBBS, B.Pharma, or D.Pharma, specific eligibility criteria must be met, especially regarding the subjects and scores in your Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC).1. MBBS: Generally, to be eligible for MBBS, you need to have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in your HSC. Although some institutions may consider alternative combinations, a failure or low score in Physics could be a hindrance, especially if the programme specifically requires a strong performance in Physics. MBBS programs are highly competitive, and they often have strict eligibility requirements, including specific marks in individual subjects.2

With 329 marks in NEET, you may not get a fully free seat in medicine, such as MBBS, in government colleges as the cutoffs are higher. You may qualify for BAMS (Ayurveda), BHMS (Homeopathy), BUMS (Unani), or BVSc (Veterinary Science) in government or semi-government institutions depending on your category and state quota.State counseling processes will vary because cutoffs vary from state to state and category reserved. Even the waiver of tuition fees or scholarship to reserved or economically weaker sections can be quite cost-effective. Check out state-wise NEET counseling portals for more details on options and cutoffs available.

With 350 marks in NEET, your chances of securing admission to a BAMS programme depend on factors like your category, state, and the type of institution. For general category candidates, it might be challenging to gain admission to a government college, as the cutoffs are typically higher. However, reserved category candidates (OBC, SC, ST) have better chances due to relaxed cutoffs. Under the 85% state quota, cutoffs vary by state, and some states with lower demand for BAMS may offer seats at this score. Private colleges are also a viable option, as their cutoffs are generally lower, though fees are higher.
