As per my opinion, chemical engineering would be a better option. It's kind of a more generalized branch comparatively. Also, from job opportunities point of view, chemical engineering would open up more opportunities. Nevertheless, metallurgy branch is good at its own place. I'll prefer you to opt for the NIT, Tripura as this college has better placements than NIT, Warangal in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering.

Hello Sanjay,There are plenty of good colleges in Tamil Nadu offering metallurgical branch. I am attaching a link that will give you all the required information about different colleges.
