Microbiology is a vast field and has lot of scope. Microbiology is not a single subject. It has many areas of specialization. Many of the techniques developed by microbiologists are now used in molecular and cell biology to provide the basis for studying higher organisms.
The range of job opportunities for microbiologists is as diverse as the organisms they work with.
After B.Sc. one can go for M.Sc. M.Sc. too has good career prospects. Biotech is a booming sector and the growth oppurtunities are high. The Biotech sector includes - Biopharma, Biotech, Biotech services, Bioindustrial, Bioinformatics etc.

I would suggest you to opt for food Science, some of the chief reasons behind this option are as follows:

It depends on which course you want to do. If you want to do B.Sc in biotechnology or mathematics, it is absolutely not necessary, but if you want to do B.Tech then mathematics is necessary.

Yes in India, hospital administration has got more demand because of increasing of medical tourism. More no.of hospitals are coming from abroad. If you are thinking about a high-paying salary, the major difference is that biotechnology is a broad field. In this course, you will study about a lot of different subsets of biotechnology, that are bioinformatics, plant biology, animal biology, biochemistry, genetics and heredity, etc.
Microbiology is (somewhat) a type of specialisation. If you do choose B.Sc Microbiology you are confined to a type of field only for your Master's degree, but don't take my word for it. As I said earlier, different universities have a different syllabus and teaching styles too.
