ISM-Dhanbad and NIT-Surathkal/Jaipur are best known colleges for Mining Engineering. To get into ISM-Dhanbad, you need to clear IIT-JEE main and advanced(and 75% in 12th). To get into NITs, you need to clear IIT-Mains (A score around 220-240 is good).

If you are keen on pursuing a career in finance/equity research/investment banking -then specialise in MBA (finance).
If keen in a career in sales/marketing, then pursue MBA (marketing).
If keen in a career in operations/SCM-the pursue MBA (SCM/operations/materials management)

You need to score a minimum of 70 percent marks to get admission in a good college for mining engineering. Although, you can get admission with low scores in some of the colleges.
